Stuff for Sale (Cheap) and/or Giveaway

The following two motherboards have never been used. They are in their original boxes and include all the extra goodies. Prices as listed, you pick up:

  • Gigabyte GA-81PE1000-Pro2: 5000 yen
  • Asus P4P800-E: 5000 yen

So... why, you may ask, does this guy have two unused motherboards? Well, about a year ago (or so) I bought one of those low-profile CoolerMaster cases that looks like an overly large VCR. My intention was to build a MythTV box. But what I didn't know when I bought the case is that because the video card and one PCI slot were mounted on a PCI riser card (horizontally), there are few motherboards that have the right slots in exactly the right place to make it work. So it took me a few iterations to get one that fit the case ;-).

Speaking of which, I never did find the time to build that MythTV box so I have a functional, almost never used, Linux system for sale (cheap) as well:

  • CoolerMaster VCR-like case, Gigabyte GA-8S661FXMP-RZ M/B, Intel Celeron CPU, 1GB RAM, 300GB hard disk, Plextor PX755A DVD/CD-RW, Video (not sure which, as the card isn't marked, but it has one DVI and one VGA connector). I did get Gentoo installed and running on the machine but didn't go much farther before running out of time and steam. No video capture card. Whole system: 60,000 yen (the parts alone are worth more than twice that).

In addition, I have the following free stuff (you pick up; anything not spoken for goes to the Salvation Army in a week or two):

  • HP PhotoSmart 3300 all-in-one printer (paper feed seems bolixed up)
  • AOpen "SnowKids" computer -- no disk, external power supply is shot
(also have compatable power supply but connecter is different)
  • Old Acer micro laptop (works but very old)
  • Linksys WRV54G router (may not work)
  • Linksys PAP2 VoIP adapter (locked to Vonage, never used)
